Claiming your Google Business listing is a simple, free way to put your business in front of people who are actively searching for what you offer. Steps to Claim Your Business Profile
- Find Your Business: Go to Google Business Profile Manager and type in your business name.
- Locate “Claim This Business”: If the profile is unclaimed, you will see a link that says “Claim this business” or “Own this business?”. Click on that button.
- Sign In: Sign in to your Google Account (or create one).
- Verify Ownership: Select a verification method provided by Google (e.g., phone, SMS, email, or postcard).
- Enter Code: When you receive the code (it may take a week if receiving by postcard), follow the instructions to enter the verification code to finalise ownership.

What if someone else owns my business listing?
If you get to step 2 above, and you find that your business is already claimed by someone else, you can request access:
- Go to business.google.com/add and enter your business name.
- Click Request Access and fill out the form.
- The current owner will have 3 days to respond to your request.
What if I can't find my business?
If you can’t find your business, you may need to create a new profile. You can do this at Google Business Profile Manager.
