Should I Post on My Personal or Company LinkedIn?

Ask yourself three key questions.

It’s a question we get all the time: should you be posting from your personal LinkedIn profile or your company page?

The truth is, it depends.

The best approach is to step back and ask yourself three key questions.

1. Who is the brand?

If you are the brand – a sole adviser, consultant, or the main client-facing person – your personal profile is likely the stronger choice. You carry the trust, relationships, and recognition.

But, if you’re part of a larger firm where the business name holds more weight, a company page may be the right fit (unless you’re also looking to build your own personal brand alongside).

2. Where is your audience?

Most people have far more followers on their personal profile than on their company page.

So ask yourself: should you leverage the audience that’s already there and engaged, or spend energy trying to grow a new audience from scratch on the company page? If you already have a strong personal network, start there.

3. What’s the style of content?

Different content belongs in different places.

Thought leadership, commentary, and more conversational posts tend to shine on personal profiles.

Formal, structured, or purely informative updates often work better on company pages.

The important part is consistency – your LinkedIn presence should feel seamless, not jarring, compared to what you already share.

Do you have to pick one?

Not at all.

We often recommend focusing most effort on the stronger channel but keeping the other active too.

A simple way to do this is to post from your personal profile, then reshare to the company page. That way, no matter where people find you, they’ll see your content.

In the end, the best choice comes down to brand, audience, and content style. Get those right, and you’ll build a LinkedIn presence that works.
